kenwood in a c6, HELP!!!
installing a dnx6990 into my buddy's 09 convertible, non bose, but with bluetooth
got a pac os-2 module and a pac steering wheel control module as per recommendation of audio guys in town that are usually pretty good
not my first NAV install by any stretch but first one in a newer GM
got everything hooked up as per instruction but no sound.
then something funny happend, tried to see if the onstar would work, and it does, red light lights up on the os2 module, but you can also hear the head unit(playing the tuner, ipod, etc) as soon as i hang up or say goodby for the onstar, everything mutes again.
the brown wire from the os2 unit (pin 16 looped to pin 18 has been cut and the brown mute wire from the HU is tied into the pin18 as per instruction
anyone else run into this problem??
any suggestions??

Even the non-Bose C6 has an amp external to the oem radio. To keep the stock amp/speaker setup functional and retain onstar the easiest way to do it would be with the OS-2Bose adapter using the non-premium instructions. The OS-2 can probably be made to work, but the amp is expecting line-level inputs (from the new HU RCA wires), not speaker-level.
The blue/white amp remote wire from the HU needs to connect to the blue (or blue/white?) wire on the interface, that's what turns on the car's amp.
I'd have to guess the way you connected the mute wire is causing your problem for when you hear the music, I believe most people just ignore that wire in C6 installs.

The OS2 Bose has a known problem with newer Kenwood Nav systems. You need to add relays to boost up the power because the amp trigger wire blows on the OS2 Bose harness. see the link below for more info....
