Default Replacing stock non-Bose system?

I bought a '94 Corvette last weekend :D and am going to need to replace the stock stereo in it (tape player doesn't work, can't hear at highway speeds with the top off, doesn't have CD/MP3 player). It is just the plain Delco AM/FM tape deck, not the Bose. I looked through this forum and saw a ton of posts on replacing the Bose, but none on replacing this base system. Is it going to be pretty much the same as the bose? I see that the rear speakers are 6x9s and should be pretty straightforward to replace, but I haven't checked on the fronts yet (4x6"?). Does anyone have a write up on how to do this? Is it pretty much a simple plug in operation if you get the adapter harness for the HU? Will I have to add the resistors to keep the SYS light from coming on since it has the base system? Thanks for any help.

6x9's rear, 4x6's front. Radio reciever is mounted in passenger side rear compartment even with non-Bose. You will have to extend your wiring and antenna lead from there to the radio cavity. If you are installing a single DIN unit, you will need some type of dash kit. If you can't find one locally, shoot me an e-mail.
