Default Tweeters in A-pillars - final install

I had posted in a few threads concerning this and almost had a forum member mold these in for me but he got busy. Then, luckily I saw Rick's (Gitusum) thread where he posted pics of his. He gave me contact info and I sent off an extra set of A-pillar trim pieces along with an extra set of tweeters I ordered from ED to the Richmond VA shop, Audio One, to do mine. The finished pieces arrived last week but I was in SoCal until yesterday so I finally got them installed and tested today.

The shop did a first-class molding and recovering job at a great price and the system sounds absolutely terrific!

Thanks, Rick!

That's a bargain! I think they owe you some free work as well. They should be getting a lot of work from this. I'd be happy to forward their contact info to anyone contemplating this mod.

Thanks a million, Rick!

very nice. I did something similar in my C6 but put them much lower. I am very happy with the results as well.
What speakers did you use for your mids and tweets? Are you using passive x-overs or electronic?

$300 is very fair considering how much damn work it is just to get the old stuff off of it!

I am getting ready to upgrade my audio system and my sister lives in Richmond so I get up there quite often. I am very tempted to get this done. I wonder how much of a difference this would make in the sound stage. Very noticeable?

If so, please PM me the info of the shop. I may just have to give them a call.

Also, what is the diameter of those tweeters? Brand/model?

I already have some tweeters and they may be slightly bigger and I might need to get the same tweeters that you used.

Thanks for posting. Looks like they did a great job.

Elemental Designs 3.65i with passive crossovers. I originally had the tweeters mounted in the doors and the results were less than desireable. Moving the tweets made a very positive shift in the sound stage.

That's the same component speaker I am getting ready to install.

Now I know they will work in the a pillars.

I'm curious what he used under the skin to contour. Fiberglass? Bondo?

Could I send a pair of pillars and tweeters to the shop that did yours and get something similar?

I think I am going to do this as well. What is the part number to get the A pillar trim?

Did you order from PartsTaxi or Gene?

.
.

Oh, I have a C6 (2010), I wonder if they can still do that?
.
.

I may have to stop by there when I am in Richmond again in a few weeks and see if they can work the same magic on a C6.
