Default My D@$% Metra Bezel WARPED!

So, I installed my new head unit over the weekend of the 4th (holy $#!* was it hot... I lost 12 lbs doing it while drinking a ton of water too!). I took my time, took Friday off of work to make sure I had plenty of time to do it right... and made sure that when I mounted the HU (a Kenwood DNX7140, Monday night) that since the screen tilted forward and down that it cleared the bezel. I wanted a near flush mount for the HU, and a good tight fit with the waterfall bezel. I was pretty happy with the way it looked... until Tuesday evening on my way home from work, I noticed that when I went to tilt the screen on the HU, it hit the bezel. Upon closer inspection (but not too close as it was very obvious what the cause was) I noticed the whole D@#& METRA BEZEL WAS WARPED!

Has anyone else had this issue, and is there a better quality bezel that won't warp in the moderate heat that NJ is getting this summer?? (you folks from NV, AZ, NM, TX, FL, etc. experience this crap all the time, so please chime in)

Many thanks to all...

I have the Metra bezel on my 07 w/Kenwood DNX 7100. Zero issues with warping. In the picture it almost looks like the end mounts are too narrow, as if the bezel were too wide. That's the type of warping it looks like. I know its a PIA, but try removing it and see if the warp goes away. If it does, maybe you could shim the sides. I don't see why this would be so, but that's just the way it looks. Good luck

Jim

I have not had any problems with the Metra bezel warping in the Atlanta heat. We were over 100 today and I have also had the top off all day a few times.

To me it looks like the bezzel is getting pinched at the sides. First think I would look at is the metal frame that the bezzel mounts too. Maybe its bent in a bit causing the metra to bow. I would also loosen up the head unit mounting screws (if the head unit is screwed directly to it) and re-tighten them. Maybe the screws are twisting the metra due to the headunit not being mounted square as opposed to the metra warping.
