I used the 2 studs off from the rear tunnel. Don't screw anything into the panel behind the seat. Glue/RTV a piece of 1/2" piece of plywood/MDF there and screw into that.
u can see them both in the other guys picture actually, rear seat bolt should be pretty self explantatory and if u take the side pillar piece off by the seat belt you will see the factory ground location
For inquiring minds, why is the tunnel a bad place to ground? It had to have been around 1 (or less) ohm resistance or I wouldn't have put it there. Also form the C5 Faq. (The ground location under seat belt pillar isn't mentioned in the Faq) Hope I don't sound like an @ss, just gathering info.
Where is the best place to ground my amplifier?
you can ground your amp to a screw/bolt that holds the rear middle compartment to the frame. You can also ground it to the seat bolt or if you have a vert you can mount it to the metal that is under the waterfall.

This is where i hooked mine at. i ended up moving my amp from behind the seat to right behind the waterfall.... im a big guy and sometimes my wife has to drive me home from the bar soooo the seat needed to be back all the way

There may be other reasons but here are mine:
#1 - because you don't tighten the console bolts down as tight as you can. The parts are plastic so you only want to get them snug. Therefore, your ground could come loose.
#2 - the console mounts have a pad around them so you need to take into account the need to clean off the console paint, keep the pad out of the way and you probably would have to use another nut to secure it because of #1 above. That and the use of a thick ground wire could cause issues with how the console fits. A lot of work vs. using the factory ground locations.
