Ok guys time to do system in my Durango work vehicle, the factory speakers make my ears bleed.
I am tryin to do this on the dirt cheap, have a few diff 4 ch amps to choose from and will find a sub. I have a polk component set but no woofers, tweets and crossovers are good. So i am looking for a recommendation on a decent cheap woofer I can use. Obviouslly it wont be a matched set but i could care less anything is better then what I have to roll with now
On Kale's recommendation I recently swapped out my Dyn MW 162 for Peerless SLS 6.5. They will only play up to about 700hz.
I'm running them 70 - 230hz, and the midbass impact is awesome.
Thanks Kale.
I see that PE has these; Peerless 835004 SDS 6-1/2" Woofer 4 Ohm on special for only $10 ea. They play up to about 5khz. I haven't heard them, but for that price you can't go wrong with Peerless.
Good Luck
You guys think I would be better off with the peerless for 10 bucks from PE comined with the polk xover and tweets i already have or just throw a coax speaker in there
you could always try the Pearless, I have been dealing with PE for 15 years now and I am sure if you are not happy that you could return them, They are close to you too so shipping would not be bad. I have heard Total Mobile Audio before they are cheap and sound good for $80.00 set of comp.
or you could find a cheap pair of Image Dy on thebay. I have a cheap pair of no name 6.5 that sounded ok on a house speaker for my computer but have since upgraded.
Good luck with what you choose.
