Default standard size for double din opening in bezel????

I'm a little confused about the opening in the C5 bezel as it relates to the DD products out there. I see anywhere from 6.5 inches to 8 inches for screen sizes, so does this mean I need to buy the HU first, then modify the bezel later to fit correctly? What dimensions have you guys been making on your bezels, and are there any gaps or other issues?

thanks

Din is a unit of measure.

One Din is 7x2
Double din is 7x4

The only real variation is the curvature of the corners. Sometimes head units are square, sometimes they are nicely rounded (usually.)

radios for the most part are all the exact same size

the screen size is the only difference and its because of the features of the radio.

only have to worry aboutt he off brand hong kong units. these are a nightmare as they are all different sizes

What size are people making the C5 bezel to fit a double din radio?
7x4 or a little smaller?

If you personally wants install the HU, I suggest that you buy the HU first and modify the bezel later to fit correctly. The Last week I bought a Pioneer AVH-3300BT and with a few modifi in the radio bezel, I installed it, Just cut a few mm of the bezel top, and modifie the radio aluminium support.

Thanks. I have an old bezel that I had cut the ash tray out of a while back. I did that for a sat radio. I since replaced it with a new bezel so I still have the cut up one. I was going to cut it up further for a double din and no ashtray. I haven't picked out which radio to go with yet though.
