Radar Detector Reviews?
The only blind testing without support from the manufacturers I know of is GOL. GOL uses their own units or blind purchases units so the manufacturers have no way of knowing that unit will be used in testing.

Here's what Escort's rep has to say about this new unit:
"The Passport iQ uses a modified M4 antenna which requires 12VDC to operate, it isn't a Solo antenna. This means on internal battery power alone the iQ shuts down the detector features while leaving the navigation features on. Plug in 12VDC and the iQ simply turns the detector features on without having to reboot the entire device.
The iQ uses a RJ11 connection for 12VDC power just as our other current detectors.
The Passport iQ's detection performance is comparable to a 9500i, 9500ix, or X50. It is not RDD-proof nor has the ultra long range detection performance of our M3 equipped RedLine and 9500ci.
The Passport iQ is basically a 9500ix integrated into a fully functional GPS navigation device for $150 more than the 9500ix. That extra $150 gets you a LOT of features. Integrating a M3 antenna into it would raise the price of the unit substantially.
The Passport 9500ix has been a huge success for us. It's been our best selling detector since it was launched 2 years ago so I'm not sure why we wouldn't base the iQ on it's proven success."
Nothing new detector wise, just integrates the detector into a fully functional GPS unit.
Might be a good consideration for those in CA which gives navigation devices an exception to the windshield mount law.
Thanks for the heads up on the IQ. Not sure I really want a GPS unit though, my iPhone handles that task pretty well. I do see the benefit in having what looks to be a GPS unit on my windshield, as opposed to a radar detector there for the cop to see, if I get pulled over.
