Default Tweeter mounts

How many people of installed new tweeters in somewhere other than the A pillars? Were you happy with the location you went with? I wanted to mount mine in the A pillars but trying to get it done is a bit rediculous. I know there have been door handle installs as well as stock location installs. I also know there will issues with both but I'm considering all options just to get this project done at this point.

Door handle installs suck.

I did door handles, and they are ok for a non-interior instrusive installation. They raise the stage some from the typical location, although the pathlengths are not good, and the left side is easily blocked if you drive left arm up. I also have a 3 way setup and my tweets only play from 7k up with a 6db rolloff. 3-5k is a tougher range in the door handles as you get a fair amount of vocals there.

Can try cutting a hole in the factory grill and surface mounting them there as well, hopefully in a cup where you can adjust their position some.

It is also more difficult when working with a 2 way setup to go factory door mid and A pillar tweet. Your typical passive crossover and HU will not tune that properly, and it will require some time alignment in most cases.

It is all about compromise for car audio bro

Thanks guys. I know I'm for a compromise either way. I'm going active with the setup using Hybrid Audio Legatia series components,an Audison LRx 5.1k amp,and probably an Audison Bitone.1 processor. It's not the tuning I'm worried about. I would really love to do them in the A pillars cause I know it would be worth it but I've had 3 different places saying they'd do it and so far nothing has solidified

Talk about PLD like a ****. I have to ask, why did you put them there instead of on the other side of the door handle?

I knew the most common places to put them like the A pillars, in the handle and what not. I was sitting in my vett trying to figure out where I wanted them so I was trying different places to see how they sounded. I really liked the way it sounded when I put them in that spot, plus I have never seen them mounted there.

Kinda my own personal touch on my vett....so basically I liked the way they sounded there and it was different...lol.
