Help Removing Metal Support Plate?

I am installing a double din head unit and I have not been able to remove the rivots that hold the metal plate that supports the head unit. I have a right angle drill and I bought a good quality metal drill bit, but it is not even making a dent on the rivots. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just for future reference,when you take that plate out,do you just flip it upside down in the same position for the double din headunit or is it no longer used.

Thanks for the help, I will do it that way. To answer the above post, I dont think you would use the plate again, especially if you saw it out.
