I just got a system from a guy and am not real sure how I should wire it up.I have wired a lot of 1-amp 2-sub systems, but have never wired two amps with a 2nd battery.all the help is very appreciated.
Not sure what you're going to do with two batteries. One can be installed as a backup with a selector switch between them, or you can wire them in parallel if that makes you happy, but I don't see why for either of those choices.
Amps look like 1100rms/2ohms or 700rms/4ohms.
Subs show each having two 2ohm coils.
Just ONE of each of the above is more than enough for a vette, but if you want to use them both... I'd run one big power wire from battery to hatch area, then split it to each amp in the back.
Wire each sub to it's own amp with the coils in series: 2 amps, 2 subs, 4 ohms on each amp, total of 1400w rms with the pair or 700w rms with one of each.
Or... you could use both subs with one amp, wire the coils on each sub in parallel but have the subs in series with each other: 1 amp, 2 subs, amp sees total load of 2 ohms, total of 1100w rms.
these amps will also do 1600 at 1ohm.I was thinking of running 1 amp to each sub at 1ohm.the guy that i got them from said he had to buy the 2nd batt because the stock system couldn't keep up.
