I have a SURGE 4 GAUGE AMP KIT to use to install my new amp in my 08
My question is that it has a clear plastic fuse that does not look like it should be mounted in the eng compartment.
I have hear that it's better to mount the fuse close to the battery and have seem some threads here that show it mounted right next to battery.
The one that came in the kit does not look like its going to stand the heat of the engine compartment very well, any ideas?
Your car would have to be on fire before that fuse fails due to heat inside your engine compartment
Look how thick the link in the fuse is, then look at the tiny little oem fuses in the fuse box. It will be fine sitting on top of or next to the battery.
Ok, I was thinking of the clear plastic housing not the fuse it self. The clear plastic does not look to heat proof, although it will look good sitting next to the batter just don't want it to melt!
