I'm planning on using an odd headunit, a non-US-market Alpine, in my C4. it's only got 1 set of preamp outputs. I want to run a pair of front speakers and a pair of rear subs in the stock enclosures. The amp will be an Arc KS125.4.
Can I use the output from this one set of preouts, to run to the amp, and have the amp provide crossover duties? Or do I need to scrap this headunit idea and go with one that has a dedicated Sub preamp output and then an additional preout for the full-range speakers?
It depends on the amp. Many allow one pair of inputs to feed all of the output channels by selecting a switch to let it know there are only 2 input channels feeding all of the outputs. If your amp can't do that all you need to do is install a Y type splitter at the amp inputs, then select the front channels to HP and sub channels to LP. Either way you need to make sure the HU is outputting a full signal on the RCA's.

Thanks for the info. Does anyone know what the Arc KS125.4's capabilities are in this area?
