Default 95 C4 install questions Bose replacement

Ok, I have read the C4 facts, and I think I understand everything, but want to run through it with you guys before I start ripping things out, and running new stuff.
I currently have a 1995, with Bose Gold, I want to replace it, with a new head unit, of course I will need 4 new speakers, and have to run new speaker wire for them to replace all of the Bose junk. I also plan on adding a small amp and sub in the back, but I know I can do that, as once all the Bose is out, it will be the same as in other cars.
I have already looked and my actual stereo is in the back storage bin, and the Bose head unit is actually just for display right? That’s how I understand it, so if that is correct I need to run new wires from the bin to the stereo to for power, antenna, constant, and dimmer right? My question here is what wires are they, or is there an adaptor I can by to plug in, to the wires in the bin then run to the new head unit? Hoping for the adaptor, as it would be the easiest solution.
What are good CD players that will fill the 1.5 din, or a link to a mounting kit for a single din?
Lastly I’m not sure I get what needs to be done to keep from getting a light from coming on, I have read it, but want to make sure I get it.
Thanks in advance for your help. I think I can do this, although it will be the largest electronic install I have ever done, and just want to make sure I know exactly what I’m getting into.

there is a gm wiring harness that can be plugged into the plug in the rear cubby where the tuner is. its the same wiring harness any mid 90s gm uses, for example 95 chevy cavalier. and you will need an antenna extension.

you deff wanna go with a single din radio

Ok, that is great news about the harness that will make it much easier.
Why do I want to go single din? Is it not possible to do a double? I found this mount http://www.doubledmods.com/Corvette-...l-kit-GM37.htm
I know Vrum Vrum on here used to make a nice one, but he isn’t making them now.
Any additional advice or pics ppl may have of their set ups are much appreciated.

DOuble DIN is nice for the looks, but most high end systems utilize single-DIN units. There's a wider selection of higher-quality units in the single-DIN size. Depends on what your priorities are. To me, the C4 dash looks a little odd with a single DIN unit in it, so I'm willing to sacrifice some performance for looks in that regard.

I too prefer the looks of a double din, and have seen some that offer a suitable amount of power, but I am scared about fitment issues, and I haven’t found a mounting kit for it.

How do I keep the SES light from coming on when I remove the stock stereo? The info in the FAQ appears to be for the 90-93 models, is it the same thing?

Thanks everyone for the help. I have picked out what I think I’m going to order, and plan to get started pretty soon. I am going on a budget, so nothing to expensive, but I have found a nice set of 6x9 Rockford Fosgate, some 5¼ Kickers for the front, and a Boss head unit. I know lots of you probably won’t like the Boss unit, but I install one into my father’s car a few years back and have been very happy with it, for the price. One day I might replace it with a double din navigation anyway, but not anytime soon.
Also I’m going to go ahead and wire it for an amp and sub, but not sure if I’m adding it right away. I think I will be going with a 10inch Kicker here, but haven’t found an good amp at a good price yet. It’s a 4 ohm 300 watt sub, I was planning on getting a two channel and bridging it. Any suggestions on a cheap good amp?

Lastly again what does anyone have a brand and model number of the correct harness I need? I found one online http://www.ecklers.com/corvette-radi...1990-1996.html but was hoping to pick one up locally so I could get started while I wait for stuff to come in.

Ok, I found this one on the Metra site http://www.metraonline.com/part/71-1858, but can't find it at least not on the website of any local part store. (Advanced, and Autozone)

Also need to know the correct antenna extension?

might be a different brand just go to an autozone they will have radio harness look for one for mid 90s gm and the metra is a 70-1858. the 71-1858 is not what you want. you will need a standard gm antenna adapter and an antenna extension wire
