What should I replace the front Bose speakers with?
Hello everyone,
I have a 00 C5 corvette. I installed a sub and amp for the added base the car needed. Thats all I really wanted; however, since I went with a D1 head unit, I had to use the PAC connector inorder to keep my front door speakers. I feel like the quality of sound out of those speakers is 20% compared to what it was stock due to the PAC connector. I want to run a quality 2-way in place of the Bose speakers eliminating the PAC connector. At that point, it can be powered with the head unit. Ideally, I know I should run another amp and component, but I really don't want to go through all the trouble. Can someone recommend a good replacement 2-way for my door? Thanks in advance!
Ray
Since you already have a sub it shouldn't be a problem to remove the oem door subs. However, the HU won't be putting out very much power compared to the amplified sub, but it would still sound way better than what you have. A true component set would require even more power, so you should probably stick with a coax set. Something like this would be good for the fronts and you can use the stockers in the back, or buy two sets to replace all four
