Default Help please!!!!

I am connecting the final wire of the headunit install and I thought I had found the right thing, but I may be mistaken. I have an 04 coupe and I was looking for the three wires taped together for the 12v switched power. I thought the 3 wires in the taped bundle were supposed to be yellow, red and black. I was looking for the yellow wire and it appears the 3 I have found are black, red and pink. Please help. I would love to get this finished tonight.

The accessory power bundle is almost always in the top left corner of the fuse box area. It should be 3 loose wires (under a foot long) that all go into a plastic connector plug. If that's what you found, then GM just ran out of yellow wires on the day they made your car

Just FYI if you blow a fuse, schematics are HERE.

Well I get a blinking red light on the headunit, but nothing onscreen. I'm guessing maybe that wasn't the right wire.

According to the manual I found online a red blinking light is a security indicator when the unit is turned off. I'm guessing you just didn't hook up switched power right, or you blew a fuse.

Start by checking fuses 7 & 11 in footwell (7 is the one you should be using for switched power).

If all else fails:
-HU red to yellow in footwell (switched)
-HU yellow to orange in footwell (constant +12v)
-HU black to black in footwell (ground)

Just connecting those three wires should get the HU powering up when you start the car.

If you're sure you have the right pigtail, but can't tell which colors are supposed to be yellow or orange, connect the black wire then connect both HU red and HU yellow to ONE of the others. If radio comes on with car turned off, that's the "orange" wire. If HU is off with car off but on with car running, that's the "yellow" wire.

Thanks Mark. I really appreciate your help. I've called it quits for the day. I found another conundrum as well. When the headunit it plugged in,the heater/ac blower won't come on even though the thermostat says it's on. Hopefully we won't get the rain they are talking about and I can go over everything tomorrow.

Make sure all of the plugs behind the HVAC controls are shoved in all the way

I'll check on that tomorrow. I only remember seeing one plug on the back of the HVAC unit though.

Make sure none of the pins got bent under the plug. If they did, just use a small screwdriver to straighten them out.
