new to corvette
from what i can tell the systems are very similar as far as what has to be done to replace the headunit and speakers, i went through this page http://forums.corvetteforum.com/audi...ll-a-head.html
and notice you need the adapter which is this PAC part
http://pac-audio.com/productDetails....&CategoryID=26
my question about it is what are the rca cables on it for? input or output or what?
secondly, for replacing the speakers is there anyone that makes pre fabricated mounting adapters for 6.5" speakers in the door cutout?
also are the doors sealed or is that something i should look into doing?
just looking for some general advice here, i plan on using a pioneer 3300bt, kicker ix1000.5, 6.5 components upfront and 5.25 coax in the rear with 2 10" subs. need to know anything special needed to make this happen
edit: and yes i know i need a double din frame kit and antenna adapter, its the special integration kits i get messed up with
FYI, the orange wires in the harness are useless, connect radio amp (or power antenna) remote output to blue wire in harness to power up oem antenna module (also powers oem amp if not removed).
The RCA plugs on the adapter are the inputs that go to the oem amp if you aren't doing new amp/speakers. Just ignore them if you are gutting the Bose parts.
Doors aren't sealed. If you want to add some soundproofing, Rick (RAAMaudio) sells some great stuff at even better prices.
Several places sell precut door speaker plates, or DIY with 1/4" MDF sheet from Home Depot.
