C5 corvette headunit replacement
Hey guys. I did do a largeeee look on the forums before posting this and just want to make sure I have all my ducks in a row.
I purchased a 2001 z06 and the owner neglected to tell me the headunit didn't play cd's (not just burned ones :P).
It's a bose system.
I ordered the following from Sonic:
1. Sony CDX-GT550UI: 1 @ $119.99
2. Scosche GM1588B / GM1588: 1 @ $0.00
3. Axxess XSVI-2004: 1 @ $52.00
4. Scosche MDA1B / MDA1: 1 @ $4.99
Is it as simple as plugging in everything together then wiring the black thing to the fuse so it knows to turn on? I can't seem to find a dedicated headunit replacement guide on this forums, just for every other audio component.
Also the car has an existing subwoofer...do I just plug that into the pre amp out things with the RCA cables on the back of the deck?

xsvi will take care of the sub. Connect all speaker wires, red, yellow, and black from HU to like colors on xsvi. Ignore both orange wires and solid blue on xsvi. Connect 'amp remote' HU wire to blue/white on xsvi.

Two quick questions as I'm in the middle of the install :P
I don't see a LOC or anywhere the existing aftermarket sub is plugged in. Would it be tapped into the doors possibly?
The axxess has a black wire that I presume matches with the black ground from the Sony harness. Do I just tape them together? Or do I have to actually ground it as well?
