C5 Trunk Bin Size?
Heres my situation, my uncle called me this afternoon looking for some help in regards to a stereo upgrade. I have installed enough stereos in many different vehicles, so i know what im doing for the most part.
First Major Question....
Does anybody have a link (that still works) to the exact dimensions of the C5 vette rear center trunk bin. He wants to save as much money as possible, so builing a box is a lot more cost effective than the stealthbox's available (not to mention time)
My uncle lives 5 hours away and is not very tech savy so taking pictures and labeling dimensions is not possible. a link would be hugely appreciated.
Minor Question...
I plan on putting in a single din flip out deck in for him, just want to make sure that something like the metra dash kit is going to work, as well as the wiring harness available from them.
final thing, is there any problems that arise from putting in an aftermarket deck into the vette. i have heard stories of vehicles locking out after the deck is switched. is there such a problem on the vettes?
Thanks

1. If you are installing a new amp and plan on mounting it or a sub unit in one of the cubbies, be careful about drilling. You can very easily nick the fuel tank system. I glued a piece of plywood in the cubby and then mounted the amp on the plywood.
2. If you are going to install a new HU, make sure you get the right harnesses or modules so you don't lose any functionality with the chimes or the ability for the radio to play after you shut off the engine. (The ability to keep listening to the radio before you open the door.)
I did well on the first, not so good on the second.
BTW, the stereo guys on here are really good about specific wiring questions, types of equipment, etc.
That link to the sub box dimensions is dead, and specifically why i created this thread. i had already seen that link, and was hoping someone had a new one, or simply had the dimensions already.
1.) Clear you cookies and all internet temp files.
2.) At the cmd prompt, run the following: c:\ipconfig /flushdns
3.) Reboot
If non of that works then you have an issue with DNS or the ISP.
