Default detachable faceplate double-dins

I noticed Best Buy now sells these. Have anyone used one? I'm curious how decent they are since that removes the main reservation I've had to going doubledin on my frc. I just can't stand risking standing out enough for someone to jack my s**t.

Thanks!

JVC is the brand, I believe - here's their flagship. Looks pretty good!

The vette will stand out on it's own, no need for a new radio to worry about that

That unit looks good. If a detachable face is a requirement of yours, then you don't have many DD's to choose from.

It has USB in front, but does it have one in back that you can permanently hardwire to the glove box or armrest? Always having an exposed cord can get old after a short while.

Can you do a 'bypass' mod that lets you enter a new Nav destination while in motion (or watch DVD's)?

Ahh, thanks for the cable pointer, markcz. Yes, I definitely want the rear usb cable for remote mounting the ipod. Looks like their nav units only have front usb, but dropping down to the non-nav ones go to the rear usb. Interesting...

As far as standing out - this has been my daily driver for 7 years. Knock on wood, no one has messed with it yet. I'd like to think having the stock radio in it all this time has to be part of the reason why.

I do see bypass mods available for the jvc's. hmmm.

Around here it seems that most of the "smash-n-grab" reports only have loose items that were stolen. Don't leave ipods or other gizmos someone might consider valuable sitting out and the radio should be fine.
