i installed a new kenwood kdc-hd545u in my 82 .the install was so easy and sounds so much better than what i had ,i should have done this 11 years ago .cutting the dash did not bother me .
Doing the same to mine. Cut the gauge panel for head unit and kick panels for speakers. Didn't bother me at all either.LOL
I am installing two amps, two 10" subs, new dash speakers, kick panel speakers and maybe rear 6 x 9 speakers. I will wait on the rear speakers to see how the fronts sound first.
I put in Raam Audio sound deadening and new carpet. I can't wait to hear how it sounds.

Would be interested in knowing what you put in the dash. I have a set of Infinity Kappa's and am having a heck of a time mounting the passenger side one.
i put polks in the front .the right side should be easy its the drivers side that has no room .it hits the speedo dash.for the best sound, most go with the polks 6 inch down in the kick panels .there suposse to fit.

That's interesting.. in mine, I had no issues with the drivers side, but on the passenger side, the speaker hits the dash frame around the glove box !
