Default Quick C5 Double Din Question

Is it REQUIRED to use the factory support bracket with the new radio?

I would MUCH prefer to just use tin snips versus drilling out rivets.

Any strength sacrifice for the new radio by not flipping the bracket and reusing it?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Dennis. I was hoping that it would be you that replied. I am trying to get prepared for when I get my new double din dash trim your making for me.

So is the moral of the story, it don't HAVE to use the support for the new radio?
