I went about it the low-tech way; I swapped out my stock GM CD head unit with a cassette head unit. Now I can use a cassette adapter with the portable Sony DRN-XM01 radio unit that so many people like.
Not sure about antenna mounting choices yet... I'm still waiting (a couple hours now, grr) for the unit to be activated.
I'm waiting for my Pioneer DEH-P77DH head unit. I ordered it from cameraclub.com. The price was pretty good. I plan to change the head unit and add a Shosche BGM adapter so it can talk to the Bose speakers. I have the Plug and Play in my other car and can't live without it. You are going to love the toy.
It's working today. It sounds okay, but it doesn't really sound as good as a CD to me. I assume most of that is from the cassette interface to the head unit.
Mounting it correctly in the C5 is troublesome. I really want to mount it where the ashtray fits, but that might require a bit more surgery than I had planned on. :)
