Bose amplifier optimization SB2
I have read with great interest many of your posts about upgrading the C6 bose system (crap) I have a few questions about making the stock system better with upgrades. (Completed in stages)
1.) Will disconnecting the center channel and rear speakers improve the amplifier output power to the front stage 3.5" door speakers (until I can power them properly?) I want to use the signal to the rears to run the sub and new 5.25" coaxial speakers I am installing, they will utilize the new amp for their driver power. (300W bridged+150x2) 4 channel amp. Or should I just install RCA now and cut the center and rear speakers?
2.) Are the back speaker outputs full range, low range or other, I know they are mono but I would like to use them as the signal wire for my newly installed subwoofer in the back of the car (2005 2SB system)
3.) My set-up would power both the subwoofer and rear speakers (5.25 upgraded to coaxial) and 10" sub.
4.) My amplifier has a flat, low pass switch and gain control for each channel pair.
5.) Should I ditch the 10 subs being that I am installing a very nice sub in the hatch? I understand they are self powered (anyone know their power output?)
6.) A pair of 6.5" and 1" tweeter will be replacing the sick door speakers at my earliest, these will be powered by a separate amp.
7.) Read about the ADD - GM24, when you clip the wires to get RCA out voltage out what do you lose if anything?
I am asking because I want better sound NOW, when I do the double amp install I will totally remove the bose amp, still looking for an adequate location for second front amp (and buy) - then do dash pull out etc. I will run RCA on drivers side and power on passenger side, etc.
Thanks for all your help you guys (ladies) are great.

2 no, must get signal at back of hu, see 7
3 you'd be better off with fronts and sub
4
5 yes, but not until 6.5" components are there
6 if your amp is 4-channel, do sub and front components at same time
7 add24 is spliced into oem wires, nothing lost
Is there anyway to get better performance out of the stock amp?
You would think splitting the power between 5 speakers is less efficient than running a single pair. I would be happy to install a sub and only run two BA 3.5 coaxial up front.
Also can I use the signal going to the door sub for my rear sub? Shouldn't it be a low pass/low power signal? Anyone have the bose amp specs/schematic?
Unfortunate that there is no "shortcut" to better sound.
Oh well, I was going to complete the full blown replace anyway, guess I will do it sooner than later. Found some nice R6 alpine 6.5" with 1" tweeters. Will order up the custom hole covers and get to it.
Sounds like I need a backboard for the amp as well, will put it in the cubby hole in the back if it fits. Use the fronts for them and the rear for the sub so I have some control from the panel. Don't want to pull the head unit and lose navigation. I saw a link to an mp3 upgrade, has anyone run this program before? My car was manufactured 2005/01
