GM's PAL does not charge the newer versions of iPods. It's gotta have a USB connection.
GM PAL's owner manual, apparently written before 2008, talks about the possibility of later iPod versions not being able to be recharged with the 30-pin connection.
Ray, is it the same with your version?
I just can't believe Apple. That is WAY too proprietary.
it's just a little adapter that goes on the end of the cable from the PAL module. It has a 30 pin input and a 30 pin output, it converts the 12v charging line from the PAL to the 5v used by the newer devices.

U guys are all correct. It is a 12V vs. a 5V issue and Ray's kit does include a 5V cord. I just need to get the adapter ($17) if I wanna use my iPod.
Right now, I'm using my kid's older iPod classic. Lotta music from groups with names like Dead Mouse, etc. Now I know how my parents felt when I played my music back in the day.
