1992 vert. I have an old head unit and 6 disc changer. Problem is skipping and jamming when playing cd's..these cars are so stiff they rattle when hitting an air pocket. Looking to go digital and cd but son't know a lot about these digital players. Do you have to use an Ipod, I have one but also read about using stick drives. I want the best sound quality so I would want to run the music as uncompressed as possible. Any ideas??
Pioneer Premier head units I would recommend to anyone.
I've used them in all my vehicles since 16 years old.
The Pioneer Premier DEH-P590IB is the most likely the best bang for the buck if you want to run an iPod to it. I have one and love it.
Plus these head units have a High pass filter to filter out rattles in old speakers.
They can make almost any old speakers sound good by setting the high pass filter to 80hz, 100hz or 125hz.
I am with b.lee all the way. Pioneer! When my 68 Camaro is done I will replace the Eonon I just installed in the Vette with a high end old school Pioneer, but to get things rolling top down in a hurry with a short Ohio summer I went outside my comfort zone.
Maro is getting Pioneer, my beater winter truck has pioneer too. Just installed old school pioneer with ipod on friend's boat. Flawless and good sound even with old speakers and choppy water.
