Interested in a 3-4 lb, CF, compact 10" sub enclosure?
The enclosures will be in the 7-8 lb range, about half of any others available. If enough interest we can do a full CF version, somewhere between 3-4 lbs, would cost a fair amount more as just raw materials are quite expensive and more labor is required, all hand laid, etc......
-------
As for the regular version, I will have the couple one here to do the final evaluation on in a week or so and mod it to fit the Vert, send it back, then go into production and start the Vert mold as well

It has been far to long since I started this project but in the end worth the wait as the enclosures are going to be the best, by a wide margin, take up the least space, have one of the best subs made in them, lowest weight......and built by a great manf of high quality Vette products.
I will be posting pics as soon as I have the final approval completed.
Thanks

Rick

Originally designed to fit the IDQ12v3 from Image Dynamics which can be considered an 11" sub we had to stop the mold process the day it was started to change the opening to fit smaller normal sized 10" subs.
It will still fit the IDQ12v3 by opening up the mounting hole a bit, we left room for that as some have the ID sub and waiting for the enclosure.
The sub it is now made to fit by just dropping it in, screwing it down, etc, is the Arc Audio 10, originally engineered by ID, it is a very fine sub.
Other subs will fit but not many worthy of using as most are just not very musical. The Arc has a nice balance of great sound and output level and not weighing to much. I know of numerous swaps to the Arc series, 8 and 10" ones, from other brands and very good results.
Lucky for us, the manf I have doing this has a C6 on hand for fitting so I know it will come in just right when I get the first one here
But, Franklin, you are welcome to come up if you can do so right away as I will not have it for long, have to make the changes to fit the Vert and ship it back for that mold right away.
Thanks

Being on the smaller side just reduces the low end extension a bit for that sub, around 32hz instead of 30hz, which is still pretty low. Smaller volume increases power handling limits and reduces low end extension, for all subs really.
Since the demise of ID we had to reduce the opening size a bit to fit the sub we now are going to use.
The volume will increase a bit as well due to the exacting mold we are using, not measured yet, probably around .70 cubic inches.
Once I have the technical data on the yet to be released Hybrid Audio sub, I hope it fits the enclosure, I will offer that as an option to the sub it was designed to fit. Depending on how well I like the Hybrid if it does not fit I could end up with a new mold, time will tell.
There are only a few good sounding subs on the market, no matter what manf may claim, very few actually sound correct, either one I offer will be great.
For other subs, fitment will be determined more by mounting depth, motor diameter, etc....and I do not plan to test others as no need when I have two great subs to pick from already

-------------------
This is for the drivers side only, for now, if enough interest I will offer a passenger side one, after the Vert drivers side is done which is next on the list.
The reason drivers side for now, some cars cannot accept a passenger side one, if all did I would of done that first by far for the weight distribution.
------------------
Once the DS coupe and vert are up and running demand will decide which is next, or at all, passenger side units, CF, etc.....
Thanks

These are for the C6, for C5's I recommend getting one of the guys here to build you a Baltic Birch Plywood for the center mounted subs, it is half the weight and stronger than MDF, our cars deserve something better than tired old, cheap, MDF. I can hook you up with a sub, I have one line in stock, will have the Hybrid when it comes out as well.
If there was enough demand I could have a C5 side pocket version, if enough space, my C5 is torn completely down, in storage, sitting next to the 53 Studebaker body I bought for it so I cannot test fit it.
(I am considering selling the Studevette project as our plans have changed and it would be years before I could ever work on it, we are going to travel the country in a big motorhome for some time to come once all set up. I planned to run two 21" subs in the Studevette pro tour car, they are $$$$$$$$$$$ but only weigh 21 lbs each, IB so no enclosure, horns, 10" midbass drivers, monster but ultra low weight system because I like doing things others have not done

Rick

It will be around 8 lbs or less, they are hand laid and thus will be slightly different in weight.

For C5 guys, you are lucky, you can get a custom made Baltic Birch enclosure for a very reasonable price and use one of the really good subs on the market(not many are actually accurate in producing music, more boomy than real) and not spend a great deal of money
