Default pioneer avh 3200 bt illumination

Hi guys,

i recently finished a double din mod and installed the 3200 bt, but i did somthing wrong with the dimmer wire. when the key is in the acc position the screen is quite bright, but when i start the engine the screen dims considerably, i cant even see it with the top down. turning on the headlights and adjusting the instrument dimmer does not have any effect on the situation. could anyone advise what the problem might be so that i have an idea of what to do before i remove everthing again.

thanks
curt

What did you connect the HU dimmer wire to?

In a C5, for 99% of aftermarket radios, the orange/white wire from the radio should be connected to the CREAM colored wire on the HVAC controller plug. Click here for a picture.

thanks, i will take it apart and take a look. i think i did hook it up to the cream coloured wire, but i cant say for certain. i just dont know why it is bright inthe acc position. the minute i start the car it immediatly dims even without turning on the lights. if the illumination wire was not hooked up at all, i would think that it would stay either bright or dim and wouldnt change at all with the different key positions.
