Hey Guys....I need help in deciding which Kenwood Double Din to go with. I have decided that I do want the Nav option. I want to be able to hide my ipod in either glove compartmentl or console and have touch on screen for the Ipod options. I do not have the need for Blue Tooth or HD radio or Pandora....I will be adding Sirus XM. I am wondering if the larger screen 6.9 or the smaller screen 6.1 with manuel controls on left side of touch screen woujld be better....
Any one of the Nav units should meet your needs. I went the larger screen as we will pop a DVD in on long drives (for my wife's viewing only) and the larger screen is nicer. That being said, I really prefer the models with a volume ****. At very least, buttons for volume and changing tracks. I miss separate buttons - my original 7017 had them, but the new 712 doesn't. Having to look for the < or > "button" on the touch screen is needlessly distracting.
The larger screen models usually do have more versatility if you're using outboardvamp and a subwoofer. You may not need that.

I have deals on both the 6980 and 9980 right now
The 6980 is what I use in my own car
I like the volume **** myself.
The 9980 is an awesome unit too with 300.00 mail in rebates as well
my personal thoughts is to go with the 6980 and spend the rest of the money that you would spend on the 9980 and use it to upgrade the rest of the system to go with it. You would enjoy new speakers amps ect with a 6980 more than a 9980 with the stock speakers.
I have 27 6980 units left in stock and 12 9980 units

does the 6980 allow you to scan or fast-forward through an mp3 song?
