I was wondering If anyone came up with or knows about some good design for 2 10inch subwoofers in the trunk of a c5? Im trying to put them in but not have a HUGE box in the middle of my trunk taking up all the room & space you know? I kind of want them out of the way. I have heard of the bazooka tube & the box for the center hatch in the back. I originally came up with a design to put them both on each side in the back under the trunk lights facing out were the two small hatches were but since the tires molding comes up into the trunk it wasn't an enclosed box & that wouldn't sound good. So I was wondering any one have some smart ideas? I can't put them in the center hatch though at risk of breaking the cd changer with the vibrations. But let me know any ideas.

I've seen a pre-fab box with a pair of 10's side by side that fits in the trunk well. It's easily more cone area vs a single 12", but I like the simplicity of a single sub and a 12" will hit lower notes with less excursion and require less power. Unless you are nearly deaf already, a single 12" with a decent amp is more than enough bass for a daily driver.
In either case, the CD changer has to go- it's dated tech at best and not worth the weight penalty from toting it around. Same goes for the OEM head unit. A modern MP3-capable head unit with an iPod or thumb drive hooked up via USB can contain the rough equivalent of several loaded CD changers. If your music files are ripped from CDs with care at high bit rates, you would be hard pressed to hear the difference.
