Radar Roy liked it in his intial review. But look at all of the consumer review sites, and you'll see the lowest reviews for any Escort product that I can remember. 2.8 / 5 on Amazon.
The new Passport Redline is the top for sensitivity, with the Valentine 1 in second under most conditions. The 9500ix is close behind the V1, with the added features provided by it's GPS function. If you're looking for ultimate sensitivity, go with the Redline. If traffic cams are not an issue, the V1 is great, and the directional arrows are a great feature. If traffic cams, or in town false alerts are a concern, the 9500ix (or it's Bel Electronics cousin) can't be beat.
Had my V1 about 2 weeks and cannot believe the range on this thing.
First trip on the highway, it started to warn me a few short beeps, then a lock-on, as I slowed down and pulled into the middle lane I saw nothing.
The V1 was still chirping and growing more steady, after what seemed to be forever, there he was. A State trooper on the side of the road.
That thing must have given me at least 1 1/2 mile warning.
I'm sold and glad I bought the Valentine.

I have the V1 and a 9500ix. The 9500ix has better range in quite a few conditions. While they're both great, The V1 is sitting on my bookshelf, and as soon as I dig up the box, will be going up for sale.
