I would just pop over to the dealership. Most likely it just needs to be updated/reset. However, could be a result of several other issues as well. Let me know if you'd like me to setup and appointment or locate a dealership for you.

Kenwood Software Update
When I did an update last month on my 6990HD I included a MP3 file on the USB drive. Including at least one music file was recommended in an earlier thread, that I can't find right now, it worked for me.
I don't know why that would help and I didn't try the update without a music file but I was successful and its easy to try.
