Anyone have any idea on why I would get a random chime from the DIC? It happens while I am driving and I can't figure out any reason for it. No warning messages or lights come on.
Could it be a problem with the harness adapter for my Pioneer HU?
Interesting, how often does it happen? Just a single chime, does not seem like it would be a issue with the HU wiring. No even causes it like changing vol, channels, etc?
This could be hard to find, I would reveiw all my settings on the DIC and see if you might have something turned on that would cause it, not sure what but that is where I would go first.
I checked the DIC options and did not see anything there. It is a single chime that sounds like it is coming right from the DIC. It will randomly happen at infrequent intervals while driving. Whenever it chimes I always look to see if some warning light is on or if the DIC is flashing a message but nothing.
It seemed to have started right after I had an oil change done at the dealer. Could there be some setting that they messed with?

Check your oil life monitor. That might need to be reset.
thptrek,
I would try manually resetting the oil display and if that doesn't work I would recommend taking it to the dealer to have them run a diagnostic. Let us know what you find out!
