Default Need a little help

OK I picked up an AVIC X930BT on craigslist for $400 sans paperwork and CD. And, YES, I verified it wasn't stolen. Needless to say as I am new to installing modern car audio equipment and I need a little confidence boosting before I tear into my car. I have spent hours reading the forums but am not 100% ready to take the plunge. I'm attaching a little drawing i have done for reference.

OK a few questions:
Does what I have so far look correct?
Is the dark pink wire with silver dots coming from the black X930BT wiring harness the power? Does it hook to the red wire coming from the C2R-GM24 labeled switched 12v out?
Where do I hook the reverse gear signal input? (I am hooking up a reverse camera)
Where do I hook the car speed indicator? (I do want to use it for my NAV)
Do I just tape up the green, white, gray, and purple pairs coming from the black X930BT harness? I'm using the RCA connectors from the white X930BT harness.
The steering wheel module instructions say to Connect the Red wire of the ASWC to a 12 volt accessory wire, one that turns on and
off with the ignition key. Can I use the red wire from the C2R-GM24 too?
Do I need to run all of my grounded wires to a true ground or just hook them together and let them be grounded thru the factory harness?
The steering wheel module instructions say to connect the Orange/Green wire of the ASWC to pin A7 of the vehicle. How do I do this without cutting into the factory wiring?
Same for this: Connect A6 of the vehicles harness to a 12 volt accessory wire.
Where do I find this 12V accessory wire?

I got this info from the steering wheel module web site for C6:

Resistance Type Control SystemYESReference Voltage Wire ColorVIOLETReference Voltage Polarity(+)Reference Voltage LocationRADIO HARNESSReference Voltage Pin #PLUG X1 PIN A6Control Wire 1 Wire ColorDARK BLUEControl Wire 1 Polarity(+)Control Wire 1 LocationRADIO HARNESSControl Wire 1 Pin #PLUG X1 PIN A7
Are the 2 wires (violet and dark blue) part of the factory harness at A6 and A7? I'm pretty sure they are but can't hurt to ask.

Thanks for any help. I am just a little uneasy about doing this. I don't like to do anything without knowing what I'm doing beforehand.

contact Dennis @ Double D Mods...... I already had the radio and he sold me the PAC unit to hook the stereo to the factory wiring harness.
He included diagrams etc...

I am not affiliated with Double D in any way except being a customer and his customers are treated as "friends", it is great dealing with Dennis.

As I didn't purchase anything from him I feel that it would be wrong to go to him directly. If he replies to this thread then great but he is a businessman and I feel that he has no obligation to assist me. I wish I could have been able to buy from him but I was really strapped for cash and had to really look for a bargain. Maybe I can buy something from him later when $$ isn't so tight.

Read the D2 thread, lots of good info and most allpies to you (ignore onstar).

Questions not asked yet....

The dimmer wire from the radio gets connected to the gray wire with black stripe at the TC/AH button on the console.

If you want to be able to see the backup camera while you're driving (button on HU turns it on), then you need to power it from the switched wire coming out of the c2rgm24. If you don't think you'll ever want to do that you can power it from the reverse lights, but it may take a few seconds to fire up that way.

Thanks guys. I am planning on just using the backup camera while in reverse. I'd like to eventually have a front camera but haven't figured out how to mount it. I want it to point down so I'll stop hitting curbs when parking. I've got to find a very small camera.

That's an easy one, just don't pull up so far

I've been driving cars with low front ends since '92, I still occasionally clip a parking curb. If I do it in a lot that I've never been in before it isn't that bad, but it really ticks me off when I do it in a lot that I park in every day

I still have a hard time judging the distance from my front end. I've bent the plastic spoiler back a couple times. It's about time for a new one but I want a nicer one but I have to stop scraping it first.

Dimmer wire?
The diagram is all the wires I have. Where is the dimmer wire? What color is it?

EDIT: I did some research and found that there is supposed to be a orange/white wire on my black Pioneer wiring harness between the pink and red wires. ALAS there is NO orange/white wire. There is no sign of previous owner removing it. There would be no reason to do so. What now? I'm sure I want it to dim at night. I don't want a flood light in my car while driving.

Quoting Nomad's writeup:

The Reverse Gear wire that you need to tap in to is located in the wire bundle at the BCM, which is found in the passenger side floorboard right next to the fuse box. It is the light green wire, there is only one so it isn't hard to find, unless of course, you're color blind. In which case this picture won't be much help to you. But for those of us who are not color spectrum impaired, it looks like this.

He says to hook up the reverse gear signal input to the light green wire in the bundle in wheel well but I've been also told to hook it to the backup lights. Will either way work because the light green wire option seems a bit easier?

The green wire in the footwell is what powers the backup lights, either will work fine.

Well, sense the orange/white wire was missing from my black harness I decided to use one of the speaker wires. I moved the gray/black wire where the orange/white wire was supposed to be.

OK I got it installed last night. Everything works. Thanks to all that helped my out. I have one problem. Engine whine. I guess I will need Ground Loop Isolators. Is this correct or is it possibly something else I can do?
