Just installed some new audio equipment from Dennis at DoubleD. Truly amazing new sound
and the customer service couldn't have been better.
Now running:
Kenwood DNX9960 HU
Kenwood XR-5S amp
Focal 165 kr2x components
Focal 27kx sub in back with a stealth box
I put dynamat xtreme in the doors and the entire back. Also have Vette Nuts (formerly Madvette) foam/heat barrier throughout. Still working on tweet placement (should've bought 3M stock a long time ago).
...and no, I don't have pics. I've been a little busy putting this all together in just two days.
Again, a huge thank you to Dennis for making this all possible.

I am installing a set of Focal PS 165 door speakers too in my GS.
My OEM system was the standard non-Bose Delco audio system.
The easiest place I found to put the tweeters was just about where the OEM 3" speakers was:

In fact, to make this install easy, I am just going to mount the 2 crossover boxes that come with these speakers right here below the 6.5" woofer:
I can't see any reason to mount these crossover boxes way back to where my amp will be mounted.

water will get in the door, either cut into styrofoam on door panel or put xovers under the dash
For mounting the tweeter, get some 1/4" MDF at Home Depot and cut out a square the same size as your oem twiddler, then cut a hole in the middle of it to use the flush mount tweeter housing. It will mount in the exact same bolt holes as the original speaker.
Here are a few pics of the one I made for the 3-way active setup I'm working on....

Tweeter install: either make your own speaker baffles or buy baffles from nakidparts or RAAMaudio.
Crossover install: you would be much better off installing them in the cavity above the passenger floor board. You can adhere them using 3m dual lock velcro tape. I have pica of this location in my install thread.

Sorry buddy, we all know you have outstanding service and prices. When I get a head unit I would not consider getting it from anyone else. I was just responding to Turbo6TA's questions which probably belong in their own thread... Also did not know you have baffles.Originally Posted by c5 BearsFan
