Reverse camera
Does anyone know if you can use any reverse camera with the kenwood 418 hu or if you have to use the one that kenwood sells for $200? The universal ones look th be $30 and All seem to connect with a standard a/v video cable.

According to page 5 in the installation section of the owner's manual:

the rear camera input is a standard composite video-in, so any composite video source will work.
I have installed the Kenwood backup camera on a van and it works very well. A $30 universal unit will also work, but compare the specifications to reputable name-brand units before you buy so as to avoid wasting your time/money on too cheap of a unit. If you shop around, you can find a reputable name-brand model for around $100.

Another thing to determine is, does the Kenwood head unit reverse the image or does it require that the camera puts out a reversed image.
Most backup cams that I've checked have a reversed image output. If the HU does it, then you have a lot more cam options.
One of the better looking installs I've seen posted here used a BMW X5 cam, mounted above the plate, near the trunk/hatch release button.
