Default sub enclosure advice needed

I built two sealed sub enclosures that measure .35 cubic inch of space each (built them for someone else using Arc audio specs). Arc lists the optimum specs to be .35 for the 8" subs.

Well I have two CDT HD-800CF's and built the same boxes for me, well I screwed up and didnt check the requirements which are listed below.

What trouble is this going to cause and is there anything I can do to make my "already built" enclosures work with the CDT's. Will poly foam help?

Sorry, but have to see a picture of this .35 cubic inch sub, is it in a flea-circus or maybe a Penus?

The main things you run into with an undersized enclosure is reduced low end extension and higher power handling and there could be a bit "tighter" response but that seems to be a subject of much debate, even what it means

The polyfil is generally a good idea, let us know if it helps

Rick,

I appreciate the response but I am a decent carpenter but dont know squat about the technical terms dealing with car audio. That being said what exactly does "reduced low end extension" and "tighter response" mean?

Thanks

Reduced low end extension, it will not play as low in frequency, how reduced, that is rather complicated to calculate, to many variables.

Tighter response, crisper sounding, more closely following the input signal, etc....this has been a subject of much debate, we seem to all hear a bit differently being just one part of it.

Do not over stuff the enclosures, how much to use is also determined by enclosure size, subwoofer design, etc.....................

I used 1 lb per enclosure for my home audio, quad 15" subs, in each separate enclosure, recommended by the the sub manf for the size I of the enclosure, intended use, etc....

Sorry for the bad joke, when I was putting my corner 2 sub pods together, I lined the entire inside of the box with ensolite, and put a couple of inches of fiber at the bottom (poly-fiber is also avail. at crafts and aquarium stores, got mine at Michaels) ...

No need to apologize, it makes it much more fun to have humor injected observations otherwise it might tend to get boring.I am somewhat of a good humored smarta_ _ myself. We all know if there isn't flaming or humor some of these threads would end after minimal posts.

So its all good

I was able to cancel an order from Parts Express for polyfill ($10+ per bag and $14+ for regular shipping).

I picked up a large bag of polyfill at Walmart yesterday for $3.47, the savings will purchase two good cigars....
