Considering the following system in my 98...interest in your opinions
Thanks
Alpine CDA-7894 HU
Alpine MRV-F357 5 channel amp
Boston Acoustics Pro 6.5 in front
Boston Acoustics RM6 in rear
Boston Acoustics Pro 10.5 subwoofer in custom encloser
I maybe going with almost the same set-up too! Just one question though, where are you highs in the front?
I am going with:
2 of the new digital amps (2 channel each)
1 Rockfordfosgate Db 500 mono
2 components sets front / rear either Boston or Alpine (R series)
I already have a 12" Polk Audio Momo series sub
All alpine components - In dash DVD, CD changer, crossovers, etc..
The weak link would be the amp if there is one. Never been an alpine amp or speaker fan. The rest is top notch. Listen to the speakers first. Personally, I like the A/D/S better and Focals are also awesome. What is best for your ears is what you should get. I got my bostons at dealer cost so I grabbed.

I agree with respect to the speakers, but disagree with respect to the amp. Alpine V12 amps are great amps for the $$$. I will admit that I've only used the 2 channel models. Sometimes I find it hard to believe that the manufactures can pack all that power into such a small package without major heat problems. In my current system (non Vette) I use three 2 channel amps. One for fronts, one for rear, one for subs.
Nice setup....I've had Alpine amps before and wasn't to crazy with their bass performance, high end was nice though. I've always used Rockford Fosgate, but would consider JL Audio amps. Boston has always had great speakers. I would choose Alpine head units any day. Good luck.
