Default C2 Audio...anyone? Buehler?

I got all the carpet and stuff out and am thinking, "this is the perfect time to put in a stereo system"...run all the wires under the carpet and put it wherever before the carpet goes in.

I am leaning toward the following idea...

1. CD player and amp mounted in the passenger side jack compartment.
2. iPod input that runs up to the armrest area.
3. Kick panel speakers.
4. Either a box with some component speakers in them, (probably JL components) or 6x9's mounted under the rear deck somehow.

But have a lot of questions...

What do you think? Any unforeseen obstacles? Can I run the wires to the battery under the car to the battery, so I don't have to drill through the firewall, or is there an even simpler solution? Will the amp get proper ventilation in the compartment? I have had them under car seats before with no problem, but they weren't in a closed compartment like this...

I remember seeing a box that mounted speakers under the rear deck of a C2 vert. Anyone have pics/specs?

if you plan on using an ipod all the time you can skip a radio all together and go ipod straight to amp. if you want to get fancy you can use a dock to line out cable that will get you better sq then the headphone jack and install a volume **** in a convenient location for you.

amps do like air flow but others have installed them in the cubbys before

last c2 i did we drilled for power wire so cant help you with that

i would do a 6.5 coax if you can fit it in the kickpanel if not go with a 5.25

do 2 subs in the back, a pair of 6x9s, or nothing at all it depends on what you really want and how stealthy you want to be

nothign says you need rear speakers

FWIW, This is what I did in my C3, they are very similar, Ran a Pair of 2-8" Polk Subs in custom leather wrapped enclosure in the back, a nice Pioneer CD HU w iPod Jack in stock location, a pair of Pioneer 4x6 in Dash and a pair of 6x9 Pioneer in rear stock location, ran the front and rear speakers off of the HU, and ran the Subs off of 350 watt Polk Amp mounted to the back of the box. Ran all the wires under carpet and it looked and sounded great. Also note that I made the box for full access to rear hatches, just lost a bit of the trunk, but who cares!
Good luck and rock on!

Don't mean to criticize, but the C3 is nothing like the C2. It doesn't have rear speakers, the dash speaker is a single, and I have no area in the dash to put a normal head unit, and I am not cutting a dash area.

I do like what you have going on there though. Looks great!
