Hey Guys , sorry to bother you but has anyone put an aftermarket stereo in a 1999 FRC ? I cannot find a wiring harness adapter for a NON-bose system...i have read FAQ's IM LOST !!!
In a non-bose it's pretty simple. If you're keeping the stock speakers, all you really need is one of these and an antenna adapter. You can tap a fuse or use the accessory wire pigtail for switched power that turns on/off with ignition, or get a GMRAP and radio will stay on until a door is opened.
C5 prints are HERE, look at the non-bose schematics. The harness above will give you B+, ground, serial data line (if you use GMRAP), and wires for the four speakers.
If you're adding an aftermarket amp and speakers, forget the oem harness is even there and just tap power from the fuse box. GMRAP is only possible needed part. Or you can get the $10 harness to connect everything in the dash.
if you go to a bestbuy etc to get harness, dash kit, etc. tell them its for a 97 chevy cavalier, if you say corvette they will feed you a line of BS about needing special adapters, rewires, etc
