Default Infiniti Reference; Nice Upgrade for C5 rear.

Installed the 6.5" speakers today. They sound much better but I can't stop now, wont be satisfied until the entire Bose System is gone. :yesnod: Perfect fit for the coupe. Front speakers next. :D

I used the same original wires but cut them and added some more speaker wire. I soldered the connections and used shrink tube to cover the splice. I then clamped the flat, push on wire connectors to the wires and then connected to the speakers. I'm just getting started on the audio upgrade. This is the only change that I have made so far. The Reference speakers have the directional tweeters in them. When I change the HU, amp and front speakers I will install larger gage speaker wires then. I have a four channel Kenwood amp that I used in my Monte Carlo but have learned that the C5 Bose doesn't connect with the speaker level inputs that I used with the Monte Carlo.

Funny how cheap speakers like the References sound SO MUCH better than these "supposedly mid-high end" bose speakers in specially designed bass reflex enclosures. I used to run them in my doors, decent speakers.

Did the same thing.(err.. I forgot.. used Alpine, but same size.) They are an improvement over the Bose speakers. I use the fader **** to bias volume toward the rear. Now I'm going for the rest of it. I posted my planned system hoping to get advice before ordering. Good luck!

Funny, this weekend I also just replaced the rears with infinitys 652i reference speakers. First off I could not believe what a POS the stock blose rears were, secondly the infinitys were a big improvement. Now I am thinking of installing an amp.

I installed the Infinity Reference 552I 5.25" 2 way speakers in my vert on Sunday. The sound is much cleaner and crisper :) True tweeters that can be aimed. A great low cost easy to install mod :flag

How did you remove them. I have an FRC and it seems like some interior panels will have to move. Help, which ones and how??

The panels have those annoying push in clips. Take a screwdriver and slide in behind the panel to give you some room to work. If you can, slide another screwdriver behind the clip and pry it out, this is your best bet. Just go slow and don't force it. By the way you can get the 5.25 Infinity Reference at etronics for 49.95 plus shipping.
