Finally on spring break and tackling among many other corvette projects, pads and rotors, new wheels and tires, new weatherstrips) the installation of a 10" sub and a mono amp into my bose equipped '85.
A few weeks ago a few of you guys explained that I could splice a signal from the speaker wire before it went to the bose amp and route that to the power amp and then to the sub. I've gotten the carpeting up and the storage lids off and now the actual work is starting. First, I'm not sure which wire is the signal wire to the bose amp:
Second, I'm not sure how to seel my MDF board to the fiberglass and how I should prepare by storage bin / speaker box. Any tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
From the wiring digram in the C4 FAQ http://www.corvetteradios.com./Page.html I think that I am going to splice into the brown and yellow wire (positive and negative) before the connector. Before I cut though I'd like to double check this. Are these the correct wires to splice then run to RCA then amp?
If I want to run a RCA level **** for bass adjustment, do I put it inline before the power amp or between the amp and the sub?
ill dig up diargams later on and post up about the wiring for you. think about cleaning the cubby, laying some deadner down in it, then maybe cut a piece of 3/4 mdf and liquid nails it in place
