Ok, I've been thinking and kicking around what to do on this for some time.
I want to install a JL Audio 12w7 in my Z06 - maybe use a stealth box or even a custom box, however, from what I have learned - this might not be possible.
Thoughts?
I'm also kicking around the idea of (2) two JL Audio 10w7 subs in a custom box as well. Would this be possible?
Re: Need Help on Sub Woofer - Enclosure selection (Lashtal)
If you have the time and will power you can accomplish the greatest things. 1 is definately possible, two requires a little ingenuity. Why would you not be able to install one in a ZO6? Ithink somebody's feeding you a line of horsepoopiee.
Re: Need Help on Sub Woofer - Enclosure selection (Lashtal)
I would build one....You can either go with a fiberglass enclosure or build one out of 3/4" MDF. For the 12W7 your going to need atleast 1.25 cu ft to 1.65 cu ft Max according to their website. You can check my sig, I have a Solobaric 12L7 in a 1.50 cu ft box. I have since rebuilt my box to 2.0 cu ft and I am hitting some VERY low notes now :yesnod:
Re: Need Help on Sub Woofer - Enclosure selection (DPC5)
the eclipse ti series are just killer subs also & i almost like more than the w7, at any rate with a sub of this caliber and with this much travel i would DEFINATLY go with braced MDF. have you actually heard a sub like this in a space as small as a z06? they seriously move your body, i got the chance to listen to 3 eclipse titanium 10's in a supra awhile back and have never heard so much output from a trio of tens in my life...the w7 and titaniums are definatly a step beyond the current car audio sub standard when it comes to output.
