Everything is in my post. NEVER tap the HU power to feed an external power amp. Get your power from the fuse block for a small amp or from the battery for a large amp.
Bose head unit 4 channel pre-amp outputs
LF out C4(9) TAN/BLK
RF out C4(10) LT GRN/BLK
LR out C4(11) BRN
RR out C4(12) DK BLU
Shield C4(14) Bare wire
Switched 12v to turn on power amp, connect 1 amp fuse in line.
Radio "ON" C1(8) DK GRN
Bose head unit 4 channel pre-amp outputs
LF out C4(9) TAN/BLK
RF out C4(10) LT GRN/BLK
LR out C4(11) BRN
RR out C4(12) DK BLU
Shield C4(14) Bare wire

I will get power from the battery. To turn on the amp, do I connect it to the Radio "ON" C1(8) DK GRN??? Just want to make sure I understand correctly.

I am guessing that C4(9), C4(10), C4(11), and C4(12) should go to the middle pin of each pre-amp RCA cord into the external amp. The Shield C4 wire should be split into 4 wires and used as the outside metal ring on each pre-amp RCA cord?

Buy some long RCA-RCA shielded cables and cut one end off. Solder all the shields together and then connect a short piece of wire from this bundlle to the HU shield wire. The center conductor off each cable will connect to the pre-amp outputs you want to connect to.

Thank you MAGRED2, rbartick, and 99HT. I have a good understanding of what I have to do to connect my amp to my stock HU in the 2001 coupe before I even pull it out.
