I was thinking that my microphone was disconnected when trying to make phone calls thru HU because I could hear everyone but no one could hear me.
I have learned my iphone is paired as an "audio" device and not as a phone.
Option One:
How in the world do you change this. The manual says you have to pair 5 phones and the sixth phone you try to pair will let you delete one phone.
Option two reset to factory settings:
What will that affect? I know the basics but I just put the new firmware in the system and have splash screens loaded and all my audio settings for components, amp and subs - don't want to retune
Any suggestions other than option one or two??????
Been searching there but that's how I came up with option one and two. So I knew you and some of the other guys may chime in on here with new info.
If I find another cure in the interim i will be sure to post it.
Not that this helps you now...but I know that the new 940 has better Android support, and you will be able to update your 930 to 940 firmware this summer. Or that's what I've read. The only issues I've had with my iPhone pairing with my Z140 is when I did a full restore on my iPhone and I had to go through re-pairing it.
I did that,
* reset to factory defaults
* paired my iPhone using directions printed out (pages 56 thru 61 in the manual)
* same problem phone was paired as an "audio" device
This results is head unit working perfectly i.e. contacts transferred, keypad for phone available - everything functions perfectly "except" the phone is paired and identified as an audio device thus rendering the capability for callers the ability to hear me. regardless of whether I call out or they call in they cannot hear me.
Pioneer said the iphone should be able to have the profile of the iphone to be changed.
Apple support said that is not possible.
Is anyone on the forum able to pair their iphone 4 to a Pioneer Avic unit and use their phone.
I can pair my phone and use everything from AHA to Pandora perfectly just not the phone and as mentioned ALL of the phones capabilities are available EXCEPT the ability for callers to HEAR me.
Like I mentioned the manual says you have the options to pair the device with 3 profile options:
(1) Handsfree and audio
(2) Audio device
(3) handsfree device
The Head unit skips my coption to choose one of the three options and automatically pairs it as an audio input device. another words the head unit thinks the iphone is an ipod and will give me all options as an ipod but will not allow the head unit to "hear" my voice from the handsfree microphone.
My last resort is to pull the radio and see if the handsfree mic has come unplugged.
I paired my iPhone 4 with my x920 without issues. It does phone or audio streaming just fine, and I don't remember getting an option of how to pair it.
