My new to me 2008 vette sound system doesn't deliver anything close to what I want. I went to the local car audio place and they came up with a system of a new head unit and four speakers. The head unit is a sony CDXGT700. Will this be a noticeable upgrade over the stock unit? The door speakers are 6x9 MCs, rear speakers 5 1/2 MCs. Will I hear much improvement over the stock speakers?
When I was Vette shopping I said I DID NOT want the Bose/Blows system because if I was paying extra it wouldnt be for something I was going to swap anyway.
Like you said the stock system leaves much to be desired but it isnt THAT abd.....I am looking forward to other responses as this is something I am looking to swap out. I would think anything aftermarket would be better than what you have.
Mine sounds ok after custom adjusting the settings to my liking. I don't like a lot of bass, the highs are crisp and clear. It is a car radio, a lot of sound is lost to the exhaust.
Pioneer AVIC-X930BT (amazon 670, will need usb cable for iphone, antenna cable, and mounting brackets for headunit. about 750 total including tax i also threw in a backup camera)and factory speakers made a 110% improvement, i installed headunit first then was going to decide on upgrading speakers.... not after hearing the improvement!! outstanding, love the pandora built in. will not buy another unit that does not offer the feature!
