I thought I would share the pics of my audio equipment to give people ideas.
Here is what I have:
Kenwood Excelon KDC-X915
Soundstream 4channel 100W/Channel
MB Quart 218.61Q 6.5" 2-Way Q Series Separate Components
MB Quart Reference 5.25" Coaxial's Rear
Punch 12" Sub
Punch 250W Amp for Sub
Custom alumimum braces were installed in the doors and the rear panel to provide a solid mounting point for the speakers. A custom box was made for the woofer that fits neatly into the cargo hole along with a grill for protection. By doing this I lose no storage room as items can be placed on top of the woofer without harm. The Soundstream amp which powers everything but the woofer is mounted on the back deck, while the Punch amp that powers the sub is in one of the other storage compartments. Everything fits very neatly and provides me with a terrific sounding system.
I had it all installed by a friend in Louisiana over a year ago before I moved to Portland. Not sure where I would go here, but it would have to be a high end audio shop that does custom work. I wouldn't trust the big box shops or franchise places.

Louis,
What kind of aluminum brace was you using??? I got 8" sub in the door (it just act like a mid bass) and I heard a lots of vibration from the door and don't know how to get rid of that.
Thanks

That is precisely the reason for the aluminum braces. My friend took the bose speaker and make a cutout pattern from an alumimum sheet (proabably about 1/4" thick. He then bolted these to the car, the bolted the MB Quarts's to the braces. I have no vibration and very good response from the speakers. We did this on the front and rear speakers.
I only wish now I had taken pics while he did this...
What is MDF???
I am currently using 3/8 flied wood for those 8" subs but look like the bass was shaking some other parts inside the doors :cry
