1987 Corvette Bose Audio system HELP!!!!
Hello everyone, thank you for any and all advice given in this thread.I have an 87 Corvette that has the stock Bose system in place. I took the Bose head out and took a pic.
Also here is a pic of the head I am wanting to replace the bose with. It is an alpine flip out dvd single din. It comes with the brain box, and an ipod hookup box.
I am having some major problems trying to hook this up, not only because I dont know what I am doing, but also because when I talked to some techs at a stereo place, they were telling me how the bose amp that is hidden in the car does not let you replace the head with a non-bose product. I have heard there are ways to bypass this though.
If someone could walk me through how to hook this up, I would love to pay you via paypal. A local stereo shop quoted me 250 dollars for installation alone. ABC Warehouse had a junior tech look at it and he quoted me a little cheaper, but was saying he would replace some of the speakers for better sound quality.
