Default XM Antenna

I installed a Kenwood DNX6990 in my C6 Zo6 corvette. I also installed the XM module. I placed the XM antenna on top of the air-condition vents. The reception is good but it seems to fade on and off on different days. Where is the best location to place this antenna on the C6 corvette? I there a better place than on top of the air condition vents?

If you remove the center speaker it will help a bit, the big magnet is pretty much directly above your antenna. One step further would be to fab a metal bracket that screws in where the speaker was and slap the antenna on top of it, that made another small increase in mine (over just removing the speaker).

Many have reported good results putting the antenna on the dash, shoved all the way up in one of the corners.

Someone also claimed to have good reception with the antenna shoved into the headliner above the windshield (near the oem onstar antenna).

I've never been in a car with sat radio that didn't have some dropouts, even the cars with warts.

Thanks for the response Markcz
I will try your suggestion. I do a agree that speaker is right on top of both the XM and Nav. antenna. I will give it a try to see if it helps.
