NO sound

NO sound
First I'll say yes I have done some research here before posting my thread.
I have an 05' stock bose system and worked fine until just recently. The radio powers up and all buttons work but no sound. I tried the underhood 30 amp fuse for the bose amp and it's fine, the 15 amp in the footwell is obviously fine since the radio itself powers on.
I have an 11'GS which I put an old avic D3 in so I took the stock 11' head unit and put it in the 05' just to see if it might be something with the radio itself and to check the radio harness connections. Still no sound.
So, does this mean the process of elimination leaves me with a possible bad bose amp?? I have checked the connections to the amp in the footwell and they are seated. I'm not sure I want to swap the bose amp from my 11' into my 05' quite yet to see if that brings me sound so I thought I would look for someone who would share any other thoughts or how to check if the 05' amp is good or bad ....I am a novice.

no chimes, beeps . I pulled the AMP fuse and could visually see it wasn't fried but I also swapped it with fuse #29? which is also a 30 amp. No difference. I'd like to think it was simple fuse for a few bucks rather than a 3 digit dollar fix.
Any other ideas, I'm open........

this has happened to me twice in about a month since owning my '05. I would get in the car to car somewhere and no radio. no beeps or chimes from anything either.
first time it did this i tried restarting the car a couple times but that didn't help. let her sit overnite and sure enough the next morning it was fine.
second time i just restarted the car and radio started working again.

My guess - the amp is fried 
If you have access to another one, swap them out to make sure. You can get one on ebay for under $100, or prob one here for not much more than the cost of shipping if you're patient.
